Consumer Information & Client Rights

At Heartsease Counseling Center, we are committed to providing compassionate, ethical, and professional mental health services. We believe clients have the right to understand their options, access their records, and know how to voice concerns if they arise.

Requesting Your Medical Records

You have the right to request a copy of your clinical records in accordance with applicable federal and Texas law.

Please allow up to 15 business days for processing. Additional time may be necessary for complex requests or requests involving multiple records. Fees, if applicable, will comply with Texas law.

If your records are maintained through our secure client portal, you may also have access to certain documents electronically.

Questions or Concerns About Your Care

We value feedback and encourage clients to discuss concerns directly with us whenever possible. Many concerns can be resolved through open communication.

Filing a Complaint with the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC)

Licensed Professional Counselors in Texas are regulated by the Texas Behavioral Health Executive Council (BHEC).

If you believe a licensed professional has violated the laws or rules governing professional practice, you may file a complaint directly with BHEC.
